COMMUNICATION

Seesaw is the communication platform teachers will use to give all parents insight into the learning experience occurring in the classroom. Teachers will communicate classroom messages to parents via the Seesaw app. Parents are welcome to use email or Seesaw to communicate with their child's classroom teacher.

Compass is our whole school's student information system. All school fees, reports, excursions, booking and whole school communication will be sent out via Compass.

REPORTING

Term 1: Parent/Teacher Conferences are made available to all families. The primary purpose of the interview is to discuss the student's progress to date and how they have settled into class and talk to parents regarding any concerns/areas for development. For parents, an early interview can draw the teacher's attention to any concerns they may have and set clear directions for student learning. It also ensures that clear communication channels are established early in the year.

End of Term 2 – Semester 1 Reports. Reports are issued for all students and clearly inform parents/caregivers of the student's performance to date. Reports are issued via the Compass App.

4 - Semester 2 Reports. Reports are issued for all students and clearly inform parents/caregivers of the student's performance to date. Reports are issued via the Compass App.

Reports issued to parents follow the standards and requirements as described on the BOS ARC website, i.e. Plain English reports to parents at least twice per year for subjects studied using grades A-E defined against specific learning standards.

If a teacher is concerned about your child's progress at any time during the year, you will be invited to come and discuss the concern. Likewise, you are welcome to meet with your child's teacher at any time, but an appointment is essential and should be arranged by emailing the teacher, telephoning the school office or by Seesawing a message to the teacher directly.

The class teacher will always be the first person to see if you have a classroom concern. The teacher will always be available to listen to your concerns and act on them accordingly. Class teachers are not available for interviews during assemblies, class time or whilst they are on playground duty as they have a duty of care to their students, with pastoral and legal implications.
